Overview

tesa Plant Sparta, LLC is looking for a Quality Engineer as a new addition to our quality team. The responsibility of the new position is Supplier Development.  This includes full responsibilities to manage all non-commercial raw material vendors. Promotes and ensures compliance of the company quality system and ISO 9001 requirements. Manages quality policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement. Leads problem resolution efforts, working directly with the Customer, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, and plant resources/teams to drive quality improvements to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the annual supplier audit process. Derive an annual supplier audit schedule based on objective key performance indicators and acute quality concerns

  • Perform offsite supplier audits according to ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards. Ensure that effective measures are implemented on the suppliers’ site to continuously improve quality and overcome acute quality issues.

  • Assist R&D to qualify new suppliers in the course of the development of new products

  • Manage all internal quality concerns with regards to raw materials and manage the claim process with our raw material suppliers.

  • Report supplier performance and quality to management
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures for Receiving Inspection
  • Material Review Board member – Disposition and resolve non-conformance issues of supplied materials.
  • Generate Supplier Corrective Actions as required and follow up with Suppliers for completion/closure.
  • Assist suppliers with process improvement initiatives
  • Manage supplier PPAP process
  • Assist in the development of Supplier quality plans for supplied materials
  • Participate in the establishment of Supplier performance metrics
  • Conduct Supplier process and performance audits
  • Assist in performing Internal Quality Audits

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred or 3 years related experience
  • Experience with Automotive Quality Standards required
  • Previous experience working with SAP preferred
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Must be highly organized and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Hours: any as required
  • 25% travel
