Overview

The Logistics & Order Fulfilment Specialist performs specialized support tasks that require product, systems, department and company procedures knowledge. Operates with minimal supervision and may exercise independent judgment in completing assignments. This position is the regular contact person for affiliate and export customers; for the placement of orders (by fax, email or phone), order status, delivery dates, problems / complaints and product information handling. In addition, this position is responsible for reviewing, approving and processing freight invoices for payment and acts as a member of the freight carrier selection committee. Further this position coordinates Import duty classifications as well as auditing Imports on a regular basis. This is a responsible non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, verifies, adjusts, confirms and enters affiliate and export customer orders
  • Answers affiliate and export customer inquiries relating to order status, shipping documents, delivery dates, container numbers, pro-forma invoices and carrier
  • Coordinating any issues with warehouse, customs brokers and forwarders personnel
  • Accepts and processes affiliate and export customer sample requests
  • Maintains and enforces the company’s transportation and distribution procedures and related systems to maximize the overall quality and delivery efficiencies for customer satisfaction
  • Investigates freight discrepancies, overages, shortages and damages from freight carriers by communicating with carriers and / or customers and ensuring resolution of discrepancies
  • Approves, codes, processes and ensures the accuracy of all freight invoices and resolves all billing discrepancies with the respective carrier
  • Verify Import duties and Anti-Dumping-Duties with external consultancies/attorneys on a regular basis
  • Proactively suggests carrier or process enhancements and changes that will positively affect the delivery service level that the customer is receiving while ensuring the best cost benefit for the company
  • Completes request for quotes and prepares item master forms for new products for affiliates and international third parties, including but not limited to; determining if product can be made or sourced, obtaining product costing and communicating said information to the appropriate International Product Manager or third party customer
  • Receives and resolves all bond and custom inquiries, including but not limited to; increasing / decreasing bond values, clearance of items held by customs and classification concerns from customs

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Im-/Export area
  • Strong Team Player
  • High Customer Orientation
  • Excellent SAP skills: SD/MM
  • Excellent PC skills to include word processing and spreadsheet capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment
