    Job Summary:

    The Application Engineer (AE) is responsible for providing technical support for internal and external customers. The position also provides product and application expertise, new product evaluation, conducts and coordinates application testing and provides training to tesa personnel. The AE evaluates, records and reports physical and chemical characteristics of finished products of the existing assortment as well as competitive products and test assemblies. The AE evaluates and understands customer applications and specifications in terms of test programs. The AE also serves as liaison with the International R&D groups and works with customers/sales.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Uphold company safety, environmental, quality and laboratory standards.
    • Perform accurate testing and evaluation of existing products and test assemblies.
    • Document and report in an understandable manner all laboratory work performed.
    • Write technical specifications, revisions and application reports as needed.
    • Interpret laboratory studies, tests and evaluations to assist business closure and customer approvals.
    • Independently operate and maintain all relevant lab equipment.
    • Technical support for all sales personnel on technical projects to ensure closure (company and distributor) as necessary.
    • Act as internal consultant process/manufacturing problem identification, assessment and recommendation.
    • Monitor competitive environment in marketplace.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Chemical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical experience required.
    • Market-relevant experience in similar or related field preferred.
    • Must be PC proficient in Windows/Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to stand at a workstation and/or move throughout the facility during the majority of the day.
    • Requires normal lifting, use of both hands, correctable vision and lack of colour-blindness.
    • Excellent communication skills for interaction with all internal and external customers.
    • Must be able to travel by air/auto as required, including international.
