  • Overview

    The Financial Accountant position is responsible for a variety of accounting work to be done by applying generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP and IFRS) in the preparation and maintenance of accounting records; including but not limited to: general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations, account analyses, year-end audit support, purchasing card activity and cash balance reporting. This is a responsible non-supervisory position.



    • Prepares account analyses for assigned accounts as directed by the Manager, Finance & Reporting, and processes the appropriate adjusting journal entries by established deadlines
    • Prepares and enters monthly journal entries as well as other adjusting entries as deemed necessary by Manager, Finance and Reporting
    • Responsible for review, accuracy and processing of Concur system
    • Prepares all bank reconciliations and cash clearing
    • Responsible for GST and Census/Government reporting
    • Assists Accounting Supervisor in month end, quarter end and year end tasks
    • Acts as the first line back-up for Credit Services cash applications, accounts payable and fixed assets
    • Provides analyses for the year-end audit as deemed necessary by the Manager, Finance and Reporting
    • Alerts supervisor to potential internal control deficiencies
    • Reviews and processes purchasing card transactions
    • Performs other projects as deemed necessary



    • Bachelors degree in Accounting with 5+ years accounting experience preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and ability to work productively
    • Advanced Excel Experience required
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask and strong organization skills required
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
