  • Overview

    The GVCE achieves material- and part-approvals. He/she drives key projects in close teamwork with the local tesa-KAMs and the global Decision Making Units (DMU) of the customers. He/she develops and maintains an efficient network within the full global value chain comprising the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), the tier suppliers and tesa. He/she understands customer specifications and develops solid technical proposals to drive tesa business. He/she provides on-site technical customer support.

    Responsibilities

    • Meet or exceed all established sales objectives and goals for assigned territory
    • Execute the business unit’s sales strategy through specialized working knowledge of tesa solutions
    • Develop and maintain customer relationships
    • Specify tesa products and achieve part approvals of tier parts at Japanese OEMs or the tiers
    • Responsible for the execution of both the global automotive sales strategy and Global Value Chain Management (GVCM ) key account plans within the region
    • Strong emphasis on strategic automotive suppliers with borderless key account management between the DMU(decision making unit) and PU (production units) within the regions
    • Participate as part of a Global team, coordinating activities with Global Value Chain Engineer (GVCE) teams in Europe and Japan in the same value chains  supporting Global Business Unit objectives
    • Support local sales team  during technical presentations, “Tech Days” and any other activities requiring engineering support
    • Participate on line trials of tesa solutions at OEM and Tier suppliers
    • Report required field sales activity through company specified Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
    • Create new business opportunities
    • Provide technical and customer specific input  to Marketing and R&D teams, serve as voice of the customer
    • Partner & collaborate with all company business units to find the best solutions for the customer
    • Maintain behaviour, appearance, and standard of performance in line with the company’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree
    • Fluent Japanese language skills are a must
    • A Japanese cultural background is highly recommended
    • Proven track record in automotive spec in and/or sales background preferred
    • Strong characteristics of empathy, ego drive, ego strength and relationship building skills
    • Must have a current, valid driver’s license
    • Must be able and willing to travel by either auto or air 50% of the time.
    • Skilled and proficient in use of computers to include but not limited to Microsoft products-Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint-as well as ability to use Customer Relationship Management software programs.
