  • Overview

    Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the Technical Manager is responsible for developing and leading continuous improvement initiatives designed to eliminate waste and non-value added activities, as well as ensuring optimization of production equipment. This position will provide guidance and act as a resource to the Plant Manager, Process Engineering and Production on the selection and project management of improvement projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads the plant’s management team in developing the plant’s continuous improvement plan in alignment with the plant’s needs and the company’s strategy.
    • Develops, maintains, and executes short-, mid-, and long-term project/investment plans according to the plant’s needs and the company’s strategy.
    • Facilitates various CI related workshops and training events. Teaches the concepts and coaches plant personnel to see and eliminate waste.
    • Partners with the plant’s management team in analyzing key performance indicators to address areas of concern.

    Qualifications

    • Ability/willingness to work in Germany for a 1 year assignment within the first 2 years of employment is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
    • At least ten (10) years of experience in manufacturing, including at least 5 years of management/supervisory experience.
    • Success in applying various manufacturing process improvement techniques.
    • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with direct reports and influence on those with whom there is not a reporting relationship.
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy.
    • Experience in mixing, coating, extrusion and/or converting and web handling preferred.
    • Knowledge or experience with ISO/TS 16949 and IATF preferred
