    The Controls/Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical maintenance, repairs, replacements, and upgrades of electrical systems for machinery, equipment and other systems in the plant. More than 50% of plant equipment is less than 2 years old with a broad range of functionality.


    Principal Accountabilities/Main functions

    • Develop and complete predictive maintenance schedules, repairs, and audits.
    • Comprehensive electrical troubleshooting and repair in Class 1 Division 1 and 2 hazardous locations
    • Participate in organizing and controlling inventory of the maintenance shop and storage areas; keep tools, tool boxes, and work areas clean and organized.
    • He/she shall secure parts and services from vendors by completing purchase requisitions and obtaining quotes.
    • Perform calibrations and adjustments on required meters and sensors
    • Conduct failure analysis studies on prematurely failed parts
    • Support the R&D department with projects and repairs
    • Work to reduce energy consumption and waste
    • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (metrics) and focus efforts to maintain or achieve targets
    • Record meter readings
    • Obtain fork-truck and lift licenses
    • Report any safety violations
    • Work independently or in a team concept; be self-motivated; be cross-functional to work in other areas
    • Work outside in all weather conditions when required
    • Adjust working hours when required; work overtime; work weekends; and off-shifts
    • Receive phone calls and report to work during off-shifts when required
    • Willing and able to perform routine facilities repairs and installations as needed.


    Required Qualifications

    • High School graduate or GED;
    • Journeyman Electrician license or Electrical Engineering degree;
    • Minimum of 6 years working experience in machine controls programming or troubleshooting and repair;
    • Experience working on Allen Bradley PLCs and VFDs


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience welding and machining
